About us Introduction to the Ship and Land Division

OGF has a crew of “TANSA” and employees who support “TANSA” on land.

The crew consists of the Operations Department, led by the Captain, and the Seismic Department, led by a leader called the Party Chief.

The Operations Department is divided into two divisions: the Deck Department and the Engine Department. The Deck department is responsible for ship operation and maintenance of navigational equipment (electronic charts, radar) and mooring equipment, while the Engine department is responsible for maintenance of the main engines and ancillary equipment. The ship also has the Cook Department, which provides meals on board, and a Medical Department, which takes care of the crew’s health.

The Seismic Department is divided into four divisions: Observer, Navigator, Mechanic, and Opsgeo. The main duties of the Observer are to set up, lift, and maintain streamer cables, and operate the data recording system for reflected waves during observations. The mechanics deploy and lift air guns and deflectors, maintain and repair hydraulic system equipment in general, and maintain other large equipment related to the survey. Opsgeo has two divisions: the Quality Control (QC) division, which maintains data quality above a certain level, and the Data Processing (DP) division, which generates data to accurately interpret and evaluate underground structures.

Onshore operations are divided into General Affairs Department, Seismic Operations Department, Data Processing Department and others, with Data Processing Department in particular using data acquired by “TANSA” to visualize the subsurface structure beneath the seafloor.
